Français 3: Do Activity 9 (only!) of the paper attached below here -- directions are explained fully on the second page attached below (so, both attachments below, are for you).
Français 4: Everyone: 15 minutes of QUIZLET (instead of the QUIA you did last night), with self-video (use the two Quizlets available currently on the moodle for this unit... again, about the unit vocab).
IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY:
First: Watch this 10-minute video about the romanesque cathedral of Saint-Lazare in Autun. Briefly summarize what you learned about the left vs right sides of the tympanum, and how all of the sculpture there relates to the last judgement; AND briefly summarize what "Gislebertus hoc fecit" is thought to mean.
Then, note these points on the first page of your packet:
1-- Le Basilique de Saint-Denis: The BIRTHPLACE of GOTHIC architecture; The BURIAL place of kinds; Designed by ABBOT SUGER; He knew Rois Louis VI et Louis VII et la Reine Aliènor d'Aquitaine.
2-- REIMS: was the cathedral where kings were crowned
Finally: Watch the first 3 minutes of this video showing the cathedral in Reims (notice how much more seriously pointy it looks, compared to Notre Dame de Paris... it's as if it were made of wax, and, while it was warm, someone pulled at the points and made them all higher and pointier).
