FIRST:
• Test on Friday of this week, (Oct. 10)
• producing the numbers 20-100, in French, and knowing what they sound like.
• Know about Victor Hugo's 1831 book, Notre Dame de Paris (the movie and book in English are called, The Hunchback of Notre Dame), set in 1400s Paris:
• Recognize the character's faces when you see them, and know their names
• Character traits: be able to pick from a list, the appropriate description(s) of each of the main characters
• Know the author's name, when the book was written, the French name of the book, and when and where it is set
NEXT:
• Page 47 of the book (download from the folder on the moodle, if you don't have a book): Activities 3 & 4. Just follow the example and then TRANSLATE into English everything that you write.
Français 3: Worksheet handed out in class (if you missed class, go to the HOMEWORK folder for this unit, on the moodle, and download the only worksheet that is in there).... using ONLY the first 6:
• highlight the conjugated verb(s)
• translate the sentence
• TELL WHY the imparfait or p.c. was used... using the wording in the reasons found on your "Passé Composé: Son Usage" and "Imparfait: son usage" note sheets. Use the actual words for the reason, not just the number of the reason. If there is more than one reason, you only need to write one of the reasons.
• TEST MONDAY: Vocab of household items .... I'll just pick a large selection, put them there in French, and you'll have to pick a certain number and tell me what they mean... maybe 20? or 25? or 30?-- you won't know how many until test day. This is only our first test on this vocab. Anything in the 2 "Là où on vit" QUIZLET activities is fair game.
IF YOU WERE ABSENT TODAY: You must also go to QUIZLET and practice for about 20 minutes with those two QUIZLET activities.... working with LEARN, and going from "English" (the picture) into French. Bring in a parent- signed note saying that you did this (no note = 0 points).
Français 4:
• PERMISSION SLIPS : Get them signed!
• TEST FRIDAY on reading recipes (you see French, give me English). So... study " Quelques termes pour faire la cuisine"; "Encore des VERBES utilisés souvent dans les recettes"; and the one with the faire verbs on top [(faire) cuire is the first one.] To study, use QUIZLET, QUIA, and the rest of the recipes in the packet, as you wish.
