Français 1: If you missed class today, you missed the first half of the test. You will take both parts of the test on Monday, in class, while the other students do the second part, and a worksheet. So, I am uploading the worksheet, below, for you to do both activities on it, this weekend. This activity uses the forms of the verb faire (to do/to make) that we filled in on page 8 of our packets, several weeks ago... but, there is also the same basic info on the top of the attached book page. I am also attaching the directions for both activities. Français 3: Study for Tuesday's test. Français 4: Pas de devoirs.
Français 1: See the post from mardi about the test. We will have half of it on Friday, and the other half on Monday (although, if you work fast, and are ready, you may do the second page on Friday, too, to get it over with). Français 3: See the post from mardi, about the short test on Tuesday of next week. ALSO, for 2nd Hour class: Go to Activité 8, on page 334 (page B) that we were working on in class (if you were absent, that page is uploaded below--you are expected to do this activity, too!). Pick any 5 to do, from that activité. Be sure to translate the sentence you end up with. Pay attention to the example, and do your 5 like it! First verb is the action the person is doing RIGHT NOW (so... present tense for that verb). The second verb is what they DID while in town... so... write that one in P.C. You'll have a subject + verb in each part of the sentence, so you connect with QUE (or QU' ). Your sentences will all translate sort of like this: EX: Bob/nager dans la piscine / visiter: Bob nage dans la piscine qu'il a visité en ville. Bob is swimming in the pool that he visited in town. Français 4: Rendez-vous à ce site web pour l'Hôtel Progres, dans la ville d'Angers. Browse around. You may browse in the English version, but then get yourself back to the French version. Find, and list, 10 pieces of information (whatever the heck you want to tell me), list them... including the French words that led you to know what that piece of information meant. This is a pretty open-ended assignment. My goal for you, is to have you looking around the website in French, and starting to have a feel for understanding lots of what you see there.
Français 1: Test is tomorrow, Wednesday. It is two separate sheets, so if we end up with a shortened class period, we will do one sheet tomorrow, and one sheet the day we get back. Whenever I see you next, we are testing, so be prepared.
Français 3: Quiz is now re-scheduled to Tuesday's class period, February 11:
Français 1: TEST Wednesday. Topics are uploaded, below. You should study with the three QUIA activities on the moodle, and this Quizlet, using WRITE, and anwering in French. If you missed class today, you missed practice with that Quizlet, as well as continuing the group "4 points" game that we started on Friday. Français 3: Finish DONT worksheet handed out in class (attached below); QUIZ FRIDAY-- recognizing a selection of the vocab words, and placing qui, que, qu', and dont in two-clause sentences. Français 4: Pas de devoirs. (Alex, just make sure that you have looked over all of the 2-pages of vocab that I gave you.)
