Français 1: If you missed today's test, you must plan to stay after school Monday to take the test (this doesn't apply to Anita and Brayden, who already took the test in advance).
Français 3: Check Wednesday's post for 5th hour class, and follow those directions, no matter which class period you are in.
Français 4: Today in class, we went over, in detail, the script for your iMovie presentation.  I uploaded a new version, into the "Homework #1..." folder on the moodle, because I have updated it to reflect changes  this year due to it being a prepared iMovie with voice track, vesrus it being a memorized oral presentation. The major change is that, instead of having NO French words on it (which is the way we did it when it was an oral presentation in front of the class with a slide show only of images), it will have ALL of the words on it that you will be providing as a voiceover. Please take a look at the document (it's called something like "script for ChateauxCATHiMovie 2017".  DUE MONDAY: The written part of the script for the first page.... which is everything that you will be saying about each château médiéval. Frankly, even if you haven't chosen which of the three medieval chateaux that you will be using, you can still write out the script, with everything except the names of the chateaux.  NOTE: We also looked at the three websites that you will need to consult for images, and liens (=links) are there on the moodle for them (my châteaux page, my hébergement page, and a new one, my cathédrales page. ) I want you to stick to using images from the sites that I have linked to, because if you just try to do a Google image search, you will surely end up with images that are unlabeled, and are not actually of the castle or cathedral or lodging that you think you are getting.

Français 1: TEST FRIDAY: Major test on adjectives:
1--You will see a list of them in French, and need to know what they mean
2-- You will need to know what changes to make to an adjective to make it "agree" for feminine & plural
3-- You will need to be able to put all of the words in the right order in sentences that have adjectives.
4-- You will need to know when to use C'est vs. Il est or Elle est  AND Ce sont vs. Ils sont or Elles sont
5-- You will need to know what form your adjective should be in if it's just saying, "That's ____!" (EX: C'est sympa! C'est beau! C'est bon! C'est facile! C'est méchant!)
6-- You will need to know when to express "some" with "des" vs "de/d'"

Français 3: 5th Hour: ONLY THOSE WHO WILL BE ABSENT FRIDAY: Start off by finishing the worksheet that has examples with pendant and depuis. Check back for more information on Friday. REMEMBER: You will be staying after school next Wednesday, April 5, to finish our movie. That is the ONLY day that this required make-up day will be offered. You will be given points for attending (so, obviously, you will get a 0 if you do not come that afternoon.)

Français 1: Worksheet handed out in class today (p. 177, using "C'est" vs "Il est" or "Elle est".

Français 1: IF YOU MISSED CLASS FRIDAY: You missed a required viewing of a travel video on Paris.  You need to go to this link, and view the video it takes you to (called: Paris: Regal and Intimate). Before you begin watching, download the attached set of questions that you must answer DURING the viewing of the 30-minute video. (If you don't do this over spring break, you're just going to have to do it when you come back, so get it done while you have this extra time.) EVERYONE: We will be having a test on the use of adjectives shortly after you come back from spring break, so you should be studying with the Quizlets. You'll need to know what all of the adjectives mean, how to change them for "agreement", and where to place them.
Français 3: No required homework.
Français 4: Study well for your big vocab test on the Tuesday you return.

T-Shirts are here! Come see me to pick them up!

Tuesday Classwork

3/14/2017

Français 1 (1st & 3rd Hours): Practice with the Quizlets and Quias for Unit 4 vocab (les gens, etc.) and  adjectives (agreement, meaning, putting in phrases).

Français 3 (2nd & 5th Hours): Study for the test (long day)-- vocab is from French, history facts will be asked in English. Use the Quizlets! There are also two Quiz "Challenge Board" activities (like Jeopardy) you can play-- be sure you know anything that is on the Quizlet, though.

Français 4: (4th Hour): NEW TEST: Test on Friday over hébergement vocab-- From French. Study from Quizlet.

lundi soir

3/13/2017

Français 1: 1st hour:  Go to the moodle. Find the two Quizlet activities that have PRHASES with adjectives, and PHRASES with Bangs adjectives. From EACH: pick 5 French example phrases (vary your adjectives, and the gender of your adjectives), and:
• Write out the French phrase
• Translate it
• Circle the adjective
• Circle or highlight parts of the adjective that were changed for "agreement".

3rd Hour: Finish the 3-sided "nous avons / vous avez / ils ont" packet.

Français 3: Study for test that will be on the long day (don't forget about the Vocabulary!).

Français 4: Be sure that your worksheet from last week, is finished (statements that you have to finish in French... the first one was, "Si un vieillard tombait dans la rue..."

mercredi soir

3/8/2017

Français 1: 1st Hour:  Finish the packet practicing we have, they have, you have (nous avons, ils/elles ont, vous avez). (If you missed class: The worksheet is uploaded on the moodle, in the "Homework Folder Unité 4" folder. The activity is called, "Nous avons ils ont vous avez practice"., Taylor: we did half of this activity last semester, and I saved it to re-visit during this unit. So, you just need to do HALF of each section on each page, since I already have yours from last semester, that is partly done already.

3rd Hour: Because we focused on different things in class today (than 1st hour did), we did not have class time to work on the nous avons / ils ont /vous avez packet . SO.... your homework is to make sure that Two MORE sets are done for each SECTION (careful: there are two sections of "they" and two sections of "vous avez", so you need to finish two more SETS in each of those sections).

Français 3
: 5th Hour: Finish your Jeopardy-style worksheet on the historic facts for our unit. Do some practice on the the new Quizlet for that material (and the vocab), because the test will be on the long day next week. For the test: Vocabulary will be given in French, and you will have to tell me the English; historic FACTS will be asked about (in English), and you will have to produce the answers! I'll give you more specifics on Monday.

mardi soir

3/7/2017

Français 1: Using the homework sheet from Monday night, do the following:
• Pick any 7 sentences
• Next to the original French sentence, write a new French sentence, changing either the noun, the adjective, or BOTH
• Be sure to make "agreement" changes!
• Translate the new sentence
Français 3: Practice with the new Quizlet for historic facts.
Français 4: Work on your project. You will only have about 30 minutes to finish it during class on Thursday.

lundi soir

3/6/2017

Français 1: Worksheet handed out in class. Translate each statement, AND circle or highlight all parts added/changed for "agreement". If no changes made from masculine/singular form, write "n/a/" next to the adjective.
Français 3: TEST on World of What tomorrow. Scrambled French sentences. Study with QUIA.
Français 4: Work on Hébergement project.
