(If you bring in at least 2 of these sheets done, on Tuesday [when you return to class], I'll give you credit for our "in-class review #1" grade. Français 1 : Kenny-- There is a folder on the moodle in the FINAL EXAM REVIEW section with a number of practice worksheets in them. They are tailored to questions on the final exam... including the QUIA "Rags to Riches" multiple-choice practice game I put up. Take advantage of all of this material!
Français 1: Everyone-- Please continue the "-ir verbs 3X" homework that you started yesterday, now using the verbs on the right side (punir, vieillir, rougir, obéir, grandir ).
If you were not in class today-- please read the notes on page 286 about expressing NEED and WANT ([avoir] besoin de.... and [avoir] envie de); then, please read the notes on page 291 about "L'IMPERATIF" (in English, we call those "COMMANDS"). You can find these book pages in the BOOK PAGES folder on Unité 6 on the moodle (I also handed these out in a little packet in class, with page 286 as the top page... don't remember if everyone was here then or not?). Then, go on QUIZLET and practice CAREFULLY with the activities related to besoin, envie, and also the one practicing "more/less + adjective" (I don't remember exactly how the activities are named, but that's what they deal with). Français 1: If you missed class today, please go to our moodle and look first in the folder at the bottom, about the FINAL EXAM. There's a calendar in there, as well as a document that reminds you of every topic we studied this semester. You should also look at the "present tense tutorial", which reminds you how to conjugate regular and irregular verbs. I have opened up every unit now on the moodle, and there are MANY Quizlet and QUIA activities with which to practice for the final exam.
ALSO--- NEW: In the "NOTES" folder for our unit (unité 6), please download the latest new note sheet! It's about conjugating -ir verbs (we've already learned -er verbs, -dRE verbs, and irregular verbs). Then, in the HOMEWORK folder, there is a direction sheet for an assignment just like the one we recently did with -dRE verbs (it's called something like, "-ir verbs 3X".) Français 3: If you missed class today, please go to our moodle to the folder at the TOP of the page, with information about FINAL EXAMS and our last test, which is this week (Thursday for 2nd hour [C day], and Friday for 5th hour [B day])! Français 4: Follow our schedule! Français 1: Book page 280 (uploaded in "BOOK PAGES" folder of moodle, also probably already in the packet I gave you with clothing stuff). Activity 6. Remember to use est and sont, as needed, and to make cher agree with the first item in your statement (cher[s], chère[s]). TRANSLATE the whole statement. (If you missed class [ISS, OSS, illness], please be sure to READ the notes at the top of this page, that pertain to talking about things being more, less, or as [adjective] as something else.
NOTE: Those of you on ISS or OSS or illness, I will not be sending you other specific work. You must keep yourself posted via moodle messages AND this calendar. Take advantage of this time to use QUIZLET activities I've opened up for each unit, to start studying for the final exam. That said: you all also need to look at page 269 of the book (again... uploaded in the folder on the moodle, and probably in one of the two packets of book pages I've given you recently), and see the use of the verbs amener vs. apporter. Notice that the one for bringing PEOPLE, contains the word men... and the one for bringing THINGS contains the word porter (someone who carries your luggage), and reminds you of words like portable. You must do activity 2, and translate (write out the whole sentence). Remember... these are regular -er verbs. You must conjugate them when you use them! Also, practice with the QUIZLET for this that is linked on the moodle. Français 3: Finish the "super duper quand rule" homework... all three parts. Directions are in the moodle folder, called "quand rule HWK explained". TEST FRIDAY on futur and him, her, them. More info posted tomorrow. Finals info will be posted at the same time. CORRECTION! Friday is a B day, so only 5th hour will test that day. 2nd Hour will test on Thursday this week. Français 4: Please consult calendar I recently uploaded and handed out. Jack, please contact me! Français 1: Page 291 of the book, Activité 11. This activity uses our new -dRE verbs. You read the French sentence they give you each time, and then the one after it, that has a blank. You decide which of the -dRE verbs makes the most sense, and you CONJUGATE that verb when you put it in the sentence. (You only need to write out the new sentence, inserting the correctly conjugated verb... underline it... and TRANSLATE the sentence.)
ALSO: Everyone must finish the rest of the "-dRE verbs 3X each" activity you started last class (many of you finished today during class). IF YOU MISSED CLASS: You can find page 291 in the "BOOK PAGES" folder on the moodle for this unit. Français 3: "Super Duper QUAND Rule" homework-- handed out in class. You're doing part 1 (5 about yourself) (2nd hour students are ALSO doing part 2 --5 about someone else). If you were absent, you'll need to go to the NOTES folder on the moodle for this unit, and download and read the notes about the "Super Duper Quand Rule". Then, in the HOMEWORK folder, the "super duper quand rule Homework" sheet is in there. Français 4: Consult the calendar handout-- continue preparing for the final exam. Français 4: Jack, see moodle message from me (please expect to take your Subjunctive test during class tomorrow [Friday]). Français 3: 2nd hour --- make paper flashcards for future stems, since we can't rely on the Internet lately (you can use cut pieces of paper, you don't HAVE TO use index cards). However, if you can show me that you can access flash cards on your phone while we're at school, that will count, too. I'm attaching a pdf of the Quizlet cards... make them just like those. 5th Hour-- Your clothing unit test is tomorrow!
Français 1: 1) get packet letter signed (attached here, too) (10 free points!) 2) start attached assigned using -dre verbs (do attendre, entendre, perdre, and rendre tonight) 3) If you missed class (Sarah and Thomas), also do the QUIZLET for -dre verbs for about 15 minutes, and bring in a note verifying (required! =10 pts.... no note = 0 points)
Français I: Test Wednesday. See previous post (a few days ago) for info. Remember to study with both QUIA and QUIZLET.

FRANÇAIS I: Test Wednesday. You MUST memorize the gender of all clothing words, no matter which list they are on. FRANÇAIS 4: EVERYONE: Please note that there are numerous very helpful subjunctive activities up on QUIA. Hannah and Gando Two things for you-- 1-- please go to the moodle and find the folder UP AT THE VERY TOP about Final Exams. There is a calendar in there about our finals schedule (seniors and juniors), which also has very important information about what will be on the final. Included in that folder is also a description of a WRITING section that everyone will do ("Finals prompt: autobiographic writing section.doc"). 2-- In the DEVOIRS folder for this unit, you'll find tonight's homework: "subjunctive vs infinitive vs indicative" worksheet (translate from English into French). Exclude numbers 11, 12, 13, 16. 3-- You'll both need to hand in to me the completed homework that was due today (we went over it in class). FRANÇAIS 1: TEST ON NEXT WEDNESDAY:
