ALL CLASSES: No other specific assignments or tests will be posted here, until Semester 2. Consult the handout I gave you regarding Finals (there are extra copies uploaded in a folder at the top of the moodle for each course.)
Français 1: Writing section of the final exam, tomorrow. Practice sheet attached here, and it is also uploaded on the moodle, in the "FINALS INFO" folder at the top of our class moodle. Also find there, the Finals schedule, and particulars about tomorrow's test. Français 3: Passé Simple test tomorrow Français 4: Participles, passive voice, vocab test tomorrow
Français 3: 2nd hour-- 1-- Be sure that your naquit/vécut/mourut sheet is completed; 2-- document 30 minutes of studying, with a mix of these three things: QUIA top 2 activities/QUIZLET for Passé Simple/ looking for as many as you can of the 20 examples of the passé simple, and highlighting them, and charting them.
Français 4: Français 1: Homework directions are in a folder on the moodle. Please go to the moodle, to Unité 3, and find the folder with HOMEWORK and WORKSHEETS, etc. Find the document called, "Practice 2 verbs together Dec. 10". This homework must be HAND WRITTEN, not done with the computer. ALSO: Finish the "(être) où" worksheet (also in this folder, but given out during class), and the right side of the "-er verbs with adverbs" worksheet (also in this folder). IF YOU MISSED CLASS-- You will have to schedule ASAP to make up the test today, but you can still do the three assignments mentioned here. You will need to get a few pages of easy-to-understand notes out of folders that are on the moodle:
1-- In the folder with TEXTBOOK PAGES, find and download page 98. This is about "negation", which is how we ad "not"/"don't"/"doesn't to a verb (NOTE: We already have done this when we did projects at the beginning of the year... Je ne suis pas = I am not; Je n'aime pas = I don't like; Je n'ai pas = I don't have. 2-- In the folder with NOTES, find and download the document, "2 verbs together packet". Read those first two pages. Français 3: 5th Hour-- Finish finding and charting the 20 examples of the passé simple on the second sheet in the Harry Potter packet (pages 170-71 of the book). ALSO: Spend and document at least 30 minutes using the Quizlet and QUIA activities (any/all on the QUIA page that are related to passé simple). Français 1: Test tomorrow. See more info on previous post a few days ago. If you missed class today, I have new notes to give you, and another short activity, as well. (Everyone: In addition to studying, you need to complete that short set of sentences that use negatives and two verbs together.)
Français 3: Required QUIA activity-- you must SIGN IN, and fully complete the first two activities. ADDITIONAL SMART CHOICE: Continue practicing with the Quizlet for passé simple! Français 4: Finish the question packet about Marie Christine Hodeau. Français 1: Do left-hand side of worksheet handed out in class. IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY (Including being in ISS): Go to our class moodle. Look for the folder in Unité 3, called, "Textbook pages...". Find and download page 100, and read about the new adverbs, at the top of the page (words like, often, always, etc. THEN, go to the folder that has WORKSHEETS & HOMEWORK, etc. Find the worksheet called, "-er verbs with adverbs". That is the worksheet that we have for homework-- just the left-hand side.
Français 3: 1-- Finish the chart we worked on in class.IF YOU MISSED CLASS: Go to the Passé Simple unit on the moodle. Find the folder called, HOMEWORK, WORKSHEETS (etc.). Find, download, and PRINT, the document called, "Passé Simple Fill-in chart in color". You will need your Harry Potter reading packet, and 2 highlighters of colors other than what you highlighted the vocab with. On that first sheet of the HP packet (book pages 164-65), you will need to find and highlight the 18 examples of the passé simple... and, then, write each one on the chart, in the first column (the pink column). Then, you have to figure out the INFINITIVE that the verb would have come from, and write that in the CORRECT column (there are 3 pairs of columns, separated by colored lines), and then also translate the passé simple example you write down (there are two examples on the chart already). CAREFUL! If a word appears more than once, it must be written on the chart as often as you find it. THEN... find the 2 examples of the plus-que-parfait, and highlight those in yet another color, or just circle them. One of those is a reflexive verb. 2-- Do 15 minutes of practice with the Quizlet for passé simple irregular verbs, bring in the usual proof (or 0/10!). Français 4: Do the reading-related questions for Lecture B. Français 1: Finish the 25 sets of conjugated -er verbs. TEST THURSDAY (that's our long day this week)-- You must know: 1- what alllll of the -er verbs mean, when you see them in French, 2- how to conjugate them in present tense, 3- what all of the subject pronouns mean (je, tu, etc.); 4- the terms: infinitive/infinitif; stem; ending/terminaison; conjugation/conjugaison; conjugated verb when you see them in French (you'll have to identify them in sentence examples); 5- that this is called "the present tense"; 6-- How the present tense is conjugated.
Français 3: Finish the plus-que-parfait sentence translations. IF YOU MISSED CLASS: It is very important that you read the new notes that we had today, about this NEW (yes, another one!) TENSE. So: Go to the moodle, to the passé simple unit. Find the folder with NOTES in it. Find these TWO documents: plusQUEparfait NOTES, and plusQUEparfait EXAMPLE chart. Download them, and read them carefully. THEN: Go to the HOMEWORK folder, and find the "plusQUEparfait SENTENCE examples" worksheet. Download that, and follow the directions. All of this will take you at LEAST 30 minutes. Français 4: IF YOU MISSED CLASS: You need to do that same grammar highlighting activity, this time using Lecture B. Directions are probably in a folder on the moodle, if you no longer have them. DEVOIRS for EVERYONE: Go to our QUIA page (link is at top of moodle). LOG IN (I re-emailed everyone's log-in info. Find it, if you don't have it, because credit for this will happen only if you are logged in.) Do all three of the first activities (finish the whole activity each time). This will take probably at least 30 minutes. Français 1: If you missed class today (including being in ISS): Go to the moodle. Find Unit 3. Find the folder called, "Worksheets, Homework, etc.". Go in and find the document, "-er verbs 2X with verb list". Follow the directions and be sure that each set you do looks JUST like my example. Everyone needs to have the first 12 done by the start of Monday's class.... we will finish in class Monday. (So, if you are in ISS, you'll do all 25 before you come back to class -- check back here every day for new work.)
Français 3: 5th Hour class: Activité 9, handed out in class today (read directions carefully, and don't forget to translate! The actual book activity is on the back of the instructions page). IF YOU MISSED CLASS: You can find this in the moodle folder called, "Homework, Worksheets, Textbook Pages". You need the documents called, "page 334 DIRECTIONS for 8, 9, 10" and "page 334 Activities 8, 9, 10". ALSO, IF YOU WERE ABSENT TODAY: Go to that same folder, and find the worksheet, "Passé Simple: 15 irregulars No. 2", and do that worksheet. THEN: Go to the folder called, "NOTES....", that has HARRY POTTER (HP) things in it. Find "HP -page 164" and "HP-page 165. Download and print them. Then, find the handout with the vocabulary for these two pages ,"HP reading vocab No. 1". With a highlighter, and a pen or pencil, find each of these vocab words/phrases on pages 164-65, highlight them, and label them with their English equivalent. Français 4: Everyone: highlight and label the "vocab partie B" on the second reading (given out in class today). If you missed class today (Nitori!): You can find the second reading ("Femme Enlevée: Lecture B, "Le Corps Retrouvé") and the second vocab list (which you should, actually, already have), in the folder for this unit, on the moodle: "Marie Christine Hodeau Story". ALSO: You need to find, in that same folder, the document, "Questions packet: Femme Enlevée story". Using ONLY the first reading (Lecture A), do the very first 11 True/False questions-- just those... do not move on to questions about Lecture B. NOTE: Besides marking Vrai ou Faux, you have other directions given, as well. Français 1: IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY: Go to this unit (3) on the moodle, and find the folder with "Worksheets, Homework, etc.". In there, find the activity, "-er verbs stem practice Unité 3.pdf". Do that (directions are very clear! You need to use your new notes about "Using Verbs... especially the red page that is about conjugating. Everyone: Worksheet to find days for list of dates in 2008 (already handed out in class -- if you were absent, I'll give it to you Friday).
Français 3: 5th Hour: Worksheet practicing recognition of irregular passé simple. Français 3: See Monday night's instructions for Français 3.
Français 4: If you were absent (Ramisa!): Go to the moodle. Find this unit's folder called, "DEVOIRS, WORKSHEETS, NOTES, etc." Find the sheet called, "activity highlight grammar (instructions)". You will need 3 highlighters to do this activity, and they must be YELLOW, GREEN, and PINK (NOTE: If you highlighted the reading's vocab in orange, then you can do the green highlighting with blue, if you don't have a green highlighter). You are going to do this activity with the first reading about "La Femme Enlevée" (Lecture A). You already have this sheet, and have the vocab highlighted on it in orange. If you can't find your "lecture A", it is also uploaded in that folder. FIRST, however, I want you to do this activity with the 6 practice sentences, which are also uploaded into that folder ("grammar highlight first practice sentences"). Perhaps you can do these practice sentences, and then check with a classmate to see if you are doing this correctly. THEN... do the whole highlighting activity with the reading (Lecture A). This is a very important activity, and must be done before Thursday's class. It will take you possibly an hour. |
