Français 3: Translate the rest of the sheet, now that you have the correct words put into the blanks. Français 4: TEST THURSDAY (vocabulaire d'hébergement). Study for it! Français 1: Book page 210 (from little packet handed out in class today). Activité 7:
• Re-write out all 10 questions • Translate all 10 questions (be sure to leave two lines at least after each, so you can go BACK and ANSWER and TRANSLATE THAT ANSWER [see next instructions]) • ANSWER all in FRENCH only the first FIVE questions (you'll eventually do all 10) • Translate those 5 answers you wrote Français 3: worksheet handed out in class -- IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY: To find the worksheet, please go to the HOMEWORK folder of our current moodle unit, and find the worksheet entitled, "depuis pendant il y a UTex". Français 4: Study for test that is now on THURSDAY (vocab of hébergement and tourisme). Français 1: Finish the back of the sheet we have been working on. You'll probably need to budget at least 20-40 minutes for this!
Français 3: Finish answering (in French) the "depuis" questions worksheet, and translate them! Français 4: If you missed class today: Please go to the NOTES folder of our unit, on the moodle, and download the note page about expressing, "him_her-- special cases". This is a note sheet from last year, and I'm giving it as a reminder of how to do this correctly... since many students used the wrong him/her words in the sentences they made on the "si clauses" worksheet. THEN: Go to the HOMEWORK #1 folder, and find the "si starters-- conditional past and plusque parfait" worksheet. Please do this. This is almost JUST like the previous one you did (Scarleth, I don't have your other one, for some reason??), but the tenses have changed. You may even use the same verbs you used on the first worksheet, but fix errors, and change to the correct tense. (Olivia, I'm emailing you your graded first worksheet.) Français 3: 2nd hour-- Follow Wednesday night's instructions that were for 5th hour.
Francais 4: If you were absent, you are REQUIRED to do ANOTHER 20 minutes of QUIZLET practice... with both hotel and history topics... bring verification. (students who were present may also do this ... optional, for extra credit). Also, if you were absent, I'll give you a writing assignment tomorrow, that will be due Monday. Français 1: Finish first side of workseet handed out today in class, doing all parts of the directions!
If you missed class today: Find the workseet in the moodle folder that has HOMEWORK worksheets in it. It is called, "wksht 20 conjugated into going to... sentences". There is also a helpful reference sheet in there of a list of -er verbs (called, "er verbs list of infinitives from FRENCH").... you may have this already from last semester. Here are a few new words you will encounter on the worksheet: rentrer = to go home quitter = to leave louer = to rent près de= close to/near to à gauche de = to the left of Français 3: 5th Hour today: First, finish translating the QUESTIONS on the BACK of the "Depuis combien de temps.../Depuis Quand...." worksheet. THEN... ANSWER in FRENCH, only the first FIVE... and then TRANSLATE those answers. (Samantha, I put this worksheet, and a new reference sheet, in the big front zipped compartment of your backpack. Hope you feel okay!) Français 4: Study at least 15 minutes on Quizlet, over Hébergement vocab-- bring verification. Français 1: Finish the worksheet I gave you in class today (first 2 activities only). IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY: I'm attaching the worksheet here (below Français 4), or you can find it in the moodle, in the HOMEWORK folder ("APT wksht page 75+"). You're ONLY doing page 75, and ONLY the first 2 activities! PARIS VIDEO MAKEUP: Some of you missed seeing the travel video on Paris, and have a makeup assignment for that. See the March 4 post for the link, and where to get the question sheet (I gave the sheet to some of you in class today). This applies to Deidra, Chris, Tionna, Alexis, and Tessa. Français 3: If you missed class today: You need to go to our QUIA page, and do the FIRST activity, all the way through. This is REQUIRED if you were absent today (so... Pyper, Carolynn, Ramisa, and Julie). You must LOG IN for credit!! Here is the direct link to the activity. Français 4: Finish the Ina Caro reading (and questions) on Montrichard.
Français 1: 20 franglais sentences: Use each of the 13 -ir verbs once, and then pick 7 to repeat once each, making a total of 20 sentences. Use a VARIETY of subjects (include tout le monde; Qui?; on; a name), and follow with the conjugated verb for that subject (in French, of course!). Then, add the phrase "parce que" (=because), and finish off in English, with info that tells WHY the action is happening. TRANSLATE the French part each time.
EX: Elle rougit parce que her boyfriend smiled at her. (She is blushing because...) If you missed class: Add the new verb remplir (= to fill [in] [out] [up], and skip jaunir. Français 3: Only for those who missed class today: Please go to our HOMEWORK folder for this unité, and find the document called, "depuis pendant pour 10 sentences blanks". Follow the directions. NOTE: deménager = to move away • Do your best with sentence #6... it's a new structure. Due Friday. ALSO, if you were absent: An additional assignment that I will give you until the day we come back from spring break to do (3/23): In that same folder, find the document called, "leçon 31 video script". Write a translation of the whole thing... just do your best if you get stumped (use Wordreference.com if you need to look up a word), and pay SPECIAL attention to the sentences with highlighted words in them! Français 4: If you missed class today (Azim!): There are new notes that you need to read over, and part of a worksheet of sentences to do. The new notes are about a new COMPOSED tense: le passé du conditionnel (and pairing it with the plus-que parfait, which we learned a bit last year). There is a filled-in note sheet to find and read over CAREFULLY (go to NOTES folder on our unité, and find the file called, "composed tenses FILLED notes"); and there is another note sheet that shows you samples of the tenses we're working with (same folder, document called, "tense examples with SI clauses"). THEN: In the "Homework #1" folder, find the worksheet, "composed tenses sample sentences NAMES 2015". Find that sheet, print it, and follow the directions about CIRCLING and UNDERLINING, for the WHOLE document.... then, only translate the first 8. Français 1: For each of the 12 new -ir verbs (leave off jaunir, but be sure you use refléchir sur...), write one Franglais sentence. The subject and conjugated verb need to be in French (and any little word like à or sur that has to be there), but, if necessary, you can finish off in English to help make sense. Underline or highlight the French. Translate the French. VARY YOUR SUBJECTS! Use lots of nous, vous, and ils, to practice those long forms.
Français 3:If you missed class today: Please go to this unit's HOMEWORK folder on the moodle (unité 7). In there, find the sheet called, "leçon 30 video script". Write out the translation of that, please. NOTE that there is one instance of the new futur tense! (When you get to the word tampoura, you don't have to translate that word into English. Une Tampoura is a kind of African string instrument. See one by clicking here. Français 4: If you missed class today: By Friday, please have watched this 25-minute video on Day Trips from Paris (click here). Go to the moodle, to our Châteaux et Tourisme unit, into the HOMEWORK folder #1, and find the lengthy question sheet to go with it: Rick Steves: Day Trips from Paris -Questions. I prefer that you spend the time doing the assignment below, which will take about 30 minutes.] If you missed class today: In the "HOMEWORK #1" folder, find the worksheet called "si impf+conditional STARTERS". Follow the directions. You may use a dictionary, but not Google translate (be sure to TRANSLATE the whole sentence you end up with, not just what you wrote). Français 1: If you missed our Paris video in class today: You need to watch this 25-minute video. Here is the link to see it online. FIRST: Go to the moodle, to our NEW unit (Unité 5), and find the NOTES/HOMEWORK/BOOK PAGES folder. Find the worksheet called, "Paris Video questions...". Download it and print it out, and answer the questions as you watch the video. They come in the order you hear about them in the video.
