Français 1: Two-sided worksheet about telling time.
Français 3: Rien du tout! Pensez en français :)
Français 4: Un minimum de 30 minutes avec le vocabulaire, utilisant QUIZLET. Comme d'habitude, parent vérification est obligatoire.
NOTE TO ALL: EOC week schedule is uploaded on my opening page. Monday is B-day classes.
Français 1: Two-sided worksheet about telling time. Français 3: Rien du tout! Pensez en français :) Français 4: Un minimum de 30 minutes avec le vocabulaire, utilisant QUIZLET. Comme d'habitude, parent vérification est obligatoire. Français 1: Test Tuesday! Practice with QUIZLET and bring in a signed parent note, or text, or email to me, verifying that you spent at least 15 minutes studying. Study from the LEARN game, from English. (See post from previous day about what is on the test.)
Français 3: TESTS Monday and Tuesday. See previous days' posts for info. Français 4: Worksheet handed out in class today. Pick any 10 to do. Please do not do more than those 10. Français 3: See the post for mercredi soir-- TESTS Monday and Tuesday next week!
Français 4: EVERYONE: Besides the worksheet, you SHOULD also do Quizlet practice with the two sets of vocab. If you do, and bring in verification, I will give you an extra-credit grade for that. If you missed class today: Please go to the moodle and find the folder called "DEVOIRS, WORKSHEETS, NOTES, etc.". In it, please find the file, "passive_êtreNOTES.doc". Download and read through that carefully. Then, find the worksheet called, "worksheet passive vs active voice sentences.pdf". You must translate the sentences, and also circle A or P to tell whether it is written in Active Voice, or Passive Voice. Français 1: If you missed class today: See worksheet uploaded, below ("Un2FoodSentencesFrenAndEng"). This will take at least 30 minutes to do. It's due Friday. If you are in ISS, I have already included this in your packet of work. TEST next Tuesday (the day before Thanksgiving break)! Everything from this food/café/hunger/thirst will be on it. Français 3: New set of sentences to translate into French. TESTS: Next Monday-- Stems & endings for imparfait (be able to produce them in French from English prompt EX: see: voy____ ); Next Tuesday: Writing sentences into French, using the correct tense (imparfait or p.c.). You will also have to know(produce in French) the phrases common to the tenses (fois, pendant que, toutes les semaines, etc.) AND the special P.C. meanings of avoir, être, savoir, connaître.
Français 1: Two sides of worksheet handed out in class today (don't forget to translate ALL FRENCH that is on the page... what you write, and what they give). If you are in ISS, I have sent work for you. TEST next Tuesday over all of this. Français 3: Sentences handed out in class. TEST next Tuesday: Imparfait vs. Passé Composé... writing sentences. You'll have to know all of those Imparfait stems, too! Français 4: If you missed class today (or were in ISS): Please read about participle adjectives, here. We had already learned that past participles can be adjectives (EX: fermé(e)(s) = closed; perdu(e)(s)= lost; tamisé(e)= sifted), but now we are seeing that present participles can be adjectives, as well. Translate the examples on the attached worksheet. Keep in mind: PRESENT participle adjectives usually translate as --ing or -ful adjectives (EX: charming, stressful), and PAST participle adjectives usually translate as --ed, or whatever the past form is of the verb (EX: closed, sifted, shot, cut). ALSO: Do 15 minutes of practice with QUIZLET for the 2 sets of new vocab related to news stories.
Français 1: See attached two-sided worksheet below (Un2aptP22_wkbkP39). Carefully follow directions and look at examples. This will take about 20 minutes, so budget your time. Use the notes in the book-pages stapled packet, especially page 53 (that tells you how to say "It costs...", "That comes to....", "Loan me....", "Here is..."). This is all also provided on your summary note sheet for Unité 2, on the front, in sections, "Asking a FRIEND for something" [loan me....], and, below that, "Asking how much something costs." IF YOU MISSED CLASS TODAY (ISS or absence), this is today's work. Check back tomorrow for more. Français 3: Section1 (both sets of 3), on talking about things that you did when you were a certain age. Do NOT forget to translate. This may take 20 minutes or so. Budget enough time. Français 4: Using the same worksheet that you used for Friday night's homework (where you only did the middle activity), do also the first activity (4. La journée de Christine) and the third activity (F. Comment aider ses parents). Follow all of my directions in green, including translating, etc. If you missed class: be sure that you have all of the vocab words found and highlighted, in the reading. Not all vocab words on the first list, are there. NOTE: I have uploaded, below, the reading, with the vocab highlighted -- be sure you have all of these words highlighted AND labeled.
Français 1: Everyone: Finish the crossword puzzle (attached below) AND Finish the 3 lists of words that you had to make (Lists were: "Words that are feminine, and end in -e" • "Words that are feminine and DO NOT end in -e" • "Words that are MASCULINE and end in -e". The words you're categorizing into these three lists are all of the "nourriture" (=food) and "boissons" (= drinks) in our notes, including the extras that we added, like eau minérale, diabolo menthe, pain au chocolat, etc. NOTE: If your food or drink item has more than one word [like, "pain au chocolat"], you're just looking at the spelling of the first word ["pain"].... you can tell that a word is masculine if it has "un" in front of it, or "le", and you can tell that it is feminine if it uses "une" or "la" in front of it.) IF YOU WERE ABSENT: You must also do the two activities on the back of yesterday's worksheet, and, again, you must TRANSLATE into ENGLISH the SECOND of those two activities. Français 3: IF YOU WERE ABSENT: First, you should read the new notes, attached below, about how to express "had to" in the past. Then, you should find the "had to practice 4 sentences" activity attached below... translate the four sentences into French. THEN, you should go to our class QUIA page, LOG IN, and do the only activity there.... you'll have 24 questions. Do them all. Use your notes (imparfait, passé composé, expressions and special translations, "had to") Français 4: FIRST: Finish the vocabulary highlighting activity explained on Thursday's post. THEN: Do the middle activity only, of the attached worksheet ("christinePresPartcp.pdf").
Français 3: See directions on Wednesday night's post. Français 4: First: Study for the Claudel/Rodin test. Second: With the first reading (Lecture A, it's double-sided), follow the directions (uploaded below) to highlight and label the vocab from the Quizlet Partie A and Partie B list. All of the Partie A words are in this reading, I think, but not necessarily all of the Partie B words. Be sure to use orange or blue highlighter... do NOT use yellow, green, or pink. Also do the directions for present participles. This is due at the beginning of class Monday.
Français 1: Worksheet handed out in class (page 17 of Activités Pour Tous!), just the four activities on the front, and translate them.
Français 3: Worksheet handed out in class (The Lottery story).... directions are on the sheet. Français 1: Note sheet about ordering food and being hungry-- handed out in class.
Français 3: BOTH classes (2nd hr and 5th hr)-- Study for at least 15 minutes on the different activities in the Quizlet folder for imparfait vs. p.c.(found HERE, or link is on the moodle). Focus on the areas that you need to really work on. Push yourself past just doing "Scatter [Match]". Bring parent verification (note, text, email, etc.). NOTE--- 5th hour, spread the word, because I was saying this as you all walked out of class when the bell rang... you're responsible for this, even if you didn't hear me. Français 4: TEST FRIDAY on Rodin/Claudel, so study for that. AND: If you missed class, we looked at the notes at the top of book page 390 (green and white... Andrea, I gave it to you; Riley, you can find it in the moodle folder for this unit, called "DEVOIRS, WORKSHEETS, NOTES, etc." ), and then we have "act5_by_ing" activity... also can be found in that folder on the moodle. You're using a NEW translation of "en + present participle". Instead of meaning, "while _______ ing", it now can also mean, "by ____ ing" as in... "He learned Japonese by reading Anime." or "She earns money by babysitting." Translate the activity. |
